Serving the greater Chicagoland Macintosh user community for over 26 years, Lapin remains committed to providing the best Mac support in town.

Since the onset of the pandemic, we’ve had to learn how to operate differently and more efficiently, and we’ve changed in many ways to respond to the new personal and professional computing landscape with top-tier Mac repair and onsite support services.

Over the last 18 months, we’ve introduced new, more thorough safety protocols, enhanced our pickup and delivery services, added curbside options for drop-off and pickup and expanded our capacity for remote access and telephone support. We’ve stacked our technical staff with extremely talented and experienced individuals and streamlined repair and scheduling workflows to deliver customers the best results as fast as possible. While primarily driven by the spread of the pandemic, we needed to implement these changes quickly and seamlessly due to the multi-month closure of all Apple Retail locations in 2020, during which we almost single-handedly delivered authorized, in-person Mac repair services for the entire Chicagoland area. Repair volume increased significantly literally overnight and leaving customers out in the cold was not an option.

During this transition we also learned that we were able to increase efficiency, provide faster repair turnaround times, and offer an improved customer experience by unifying our repair and administrative operations into a single location.

To support that goal, we will be closing our Evanston store at 832 Dempster St. effective Saturday, September 25th, 2021, and moving all current Evanston staff to our new updated and expanded repair facility at 2034 N. Halsted St. in Lincoln Park.

We are excited to adopt this unified location model, and will continue to offer our full array of premium Mac repair and consulting services to ensure that Lapin is everywhere you need Mac repair, including:

  • Walk-in service at our flagship store at 2034 N. Halsted, with available street parking and easily accessible from multiple public transportation routes
  • Onsite service and consulting visits by our experienced field technicians to your office, home or school
  • Scheduled remote and telephone support
  • Pickup and delivery options for computers requiring shop-based warranty or hardware repair services
